Patricia Barcala Domínguez, born in 1982, is an entrepreneur, designer and communication expert. Since 2011, she has been co-founder and shareholder of Nano-Tech Spa(www.nanotechspa.com), for which she is currently Marketing and Communication Manager and Production Manager. She was born in Spain, in Galicia, where she grew up surrounded by luxuriant nature and the company of her nine siblings. The stimulating atmosphere of her childhood, among the fields and animals on the family farm, helped shape the eclectic and creative person she is today. He arrived in Italy in 2003, with the dream of growing in the world of design in which Italy is a leader. In 2009, she graduated from the Poliarte Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ancona with a specialisation in Design. During his years of study, he collaborated with various communication agencies and architecture studios, for which he worked on design, planning and interior decoration. In 2011, he enrolled in the Faculty of Construction Engineering at the Marche Polytechnic University, which he left in 2013 to move to the United States where he resided permanently for three years. During his American period he attended courses in Landscape Architecture and Marketing at Rutgers University, NJ, and participated in numerous industrial design and graphic design competitions, both individually and as part of a design collective. During the same period, she began working in the field of science communication, collaborating with numerous research groups to create graphics and infographics related to scientific projects and publications.
Over the years he continued his involvement with Nano-Tech and in 2016 he returned to Italy to take care of the company’s communication and marketing.
He has participated in dozens of design competitions, with forays into industrial, graphic, interior and fashion design, obtaining several special mentions from the selection committees. His scientific illustrations have appeared in numerous international publications, including the prestigious journal Nature. Her science communication work was presented at the American Geophysical Union international congress in San Francisco in 2019, and she is co-inventor of one of Nano-Tech’s patents.
Currently, Patricia continues to explore her artistic and professional passions, focusing on painting using mixed media, preparing for new challenges and adventures in the world of art, design and creativity.
